Visakhapatnam: In a landmark event for India’s digital landscape, the foundation stone for Google’s prestigious AI Data Center was laid today at Tarluvada near Visakhapatnam. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, along with IT Minister Nara Lokesh, participated in the ceremony. The Vizag Google AI Data Center Foundation Stone 2026 marks the beginning of a transformative era, positioning Visakhapatnam as a Global AI Hub. Investment of ₹1.35 Lakh Crore and Massive Employment: Google is set to invest a staggering ₹1.35 lakh crore in this project, which will be a 1 GW AI Mega Hub rather than just a traditional data center. Minister Lokesh revealed that the construction phase alone would create 25,000 jobs, and once operational by 2028, the hub along with its ancillary units is expected to generate 2 lakh direct and indirect jobs. High-quality opportunities in fields like Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, and AI Infrastructure will now be available to the local youth, driving Vizag towards a trillion-Lib economy.

“Our Brand is Google, Theirs is Axe”: In a sharp political attack, Nara Lokesh compared the development-oriented approach of the current government with the alleged destructive policies of the previous regime. He highlighted that despite legal hurdles created by opposition leaders, the “Double Engine Bullet Train Government” successfully brought Google to AP. “While we bring Google, they wield the ‘Axe’ (Goddali); both are not the same,” he remarked. The Minister credited the ‘Brand CBN’ and the speed of doing business for securing 25% of India’s total foreign investments for Andhra Pradesh. The event saw participation from top leaders of the Adani Group, Bharti Airtel, and the US Consulate General.
