నెల్లూరు/కడప: ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రంలో పారిశ్రామిక మరియు రవాణా రంగానికి ఊతమిచ్చేలా కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం మరో కీలక నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది. నెల్లూరు జిల్లా కృష్ణపట్నం పోర్టు నుంచి కడప జిల్లా బద్వేల్ వరకు నాలుగు లైన్ల గ్రీన్ఫీల్డ్ జాతీయ రహదారి నిర్మాణానికి లైన్ క్లియర్ అయింది. Krishnapatnam Badvel Greenfield Highway NHAI 2026 ప్రాజెక్టుకు సంబంధించి ఇప్పటికే టెండర్లను ఆహ్వానించిన జాతీయ రహదారుల ప్రాధికార సంస్థ (NHAI), ఈ నెల 29న టెండర్లను ఖరారు చేయనుంది. రాబోయే ఆరు నెలల్లోనే ఈ భారీ ప్రాజెక్టు పనులను ప్రారంభించాలని అధికారులు లక్ష్యంగా పెట్టుకున్నారు.

దూరం మరియు ప్రయాణ సమయం తగ్గుదల: ప్రస్తుతం కృష్ణపట్నం నుంచి బద్వేల్ చేరుకోవడానికి 142 కిలోమీటర్ల దూరం ప్రయాణించాల్సి ఉండగా, ఈ గ్రీన్ఫీల్డ్ హైవే అందుబాటులోకి వస్తే ఆ దూరం 108.13 కిలోమీటర్లకు తగ్గనుంది. దీనివల్ల ప్రయాణికులకు సుమారు 34 కిలోమీటర్ల దూరం తగ్గడంతో పాటు గంట ప్రయాణ సమయం ఆదా అవుతుంది. సుమారు రూ.3,397 కోట్ల అంచనా వ్యయంతో నిర్మించనున్న ఈ రహదారి వల్ల నెల్లూరు నగరంలో ట్రాఫిక్ సమస్యలు తగ్గడమే కాకుండా, చెన్నై నుంచి ఉదయగిరి, ఆత్మకూరు వైపు వెళ్లే వారికి ప్రయాణం సులభతరం కానుంది.
రాయలసీమకు పారిశ్రామిక కనెక్టివిటీ: ఈ హైవే కడప జిల్లా గోపవరం వద్ద ఉన్న NH-97ను, కృష్ణపట్నం పోర్టు సమీపంలోని NH-16తో అనుసంధానిస్తుంది. దీనివల్ల రాయలసీమ ప్రాంతాలకు పోర్టు కనెక్టివిటీ పెరగడమే కాకుండా, హైదరాబాద్ – బెంగళూరు మరియు విశాఖ – చెన్నై ఇండస్ట్రియల్ కారిడార్లకు ఈ రహదారి ప్రధాన అనుసంధానకర్తగా మారనుంది. భూసేకరణ కోసం ఇప్పటికే రూ.255 కోట్లు విడుదల చేసిన ప్రభుత్వం, అటవీశాఖ నుంచి రావాల్సిన తుది అనుమతుల కోసం వేచి చూస్తోంది. వన్యప్రాణుల సంరక్షణ ప్రాంతం గుండా ఈ రహదారి సాగాల్సి ఉన్నందున, పర్యావరణ నిబంధనలకు అనుగుణంగా పనులు చేపట్టనున్నారు.

Nellore/Kadapa: The road infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh is set for a major upgrade with the clearance of the Krishnapatnam Badvel Greenfield Highway NHAI 2026 project. Connecting the Krishnapatnam Port in Nellore to Badvel in Kadapa district, this four-lane highway aims to bridge the gap between the coastal region and Rayalaseema. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has already called for tenders, and the process is expected to be finalized by April 29th, with construction likely to commence within the next six months.
Significant Time and Distance Savings: Currently, the distance between Krishnapatnam and Badvel is 142 km, but the new 108.13 km greenfield route will cut this down by 34 km. This reduction is expected to save at least one hour of travel time for commuters and freight vehicles. Estimated at a cost of Rs. 3,397 crores, the project will be executed under the Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Transfer (DBFOT) model. Once completed, it will significantly decongest Nellore city traffic and provide faster access for those traveling from Chennai toward Atmakur and Udayagiri.
Strategic Industrial Connectivity: The highway serves as a vital link between NH-97 at Gopavaram (Kadapa) and NH-16 near Krishnapatnam. This connectivity is crucial for the Visakhapatnam-Chennai and Hyderabad-Bangalore industrial corridors. While the government has already released Rs. 255 crores for land acquisition, the project is currently awaiting final clearance from the Forest Department as part of the highway passes through a wildlife sanctuary area. Authorities are confident that the permissions will be granted soon, paving the way for a new era of industrial growth in the Rayalaseema region.
