In a significant move to enhance ease of doing business and citizen convenience, the Telangana government has simplified the Vehicle Registration Process in Telangana. Vehicle buyers can now complete their registration directly at the dealership where they purchase the vehicle, eliminating the need to visit RTA offices. The transport department has integrated this service through the ‘Vahan’ portal, streamlining the entire documentation process.
Around 1,000 dealers across the state have been trained to manage this updated Vehicle Registration Process in Telangana. So far, 671 dealers have received formal authorization, and approximately 33,000 temporary registration certificates have already been issued. This initiative aims to reduce wait times and ensure a more transparent registration system for new owners.
Permanent Registration at Dealer Points
Starting tomorrow (Saturday), the issuance of permanent registration certificates will also commence at authorized dealer points. The transport department highlighted that this move would curb the influence of middlemen and provide hassle-free services directly to the public.
