ప్రాణభయంతో దూకేసిన ప్రయాణికులు: రైలులోని స్లీపర్ కోచ్ ఎస్5లో సీట్ల కింద నుంచి మొదట దట్టమైన పొగలు కమ్ముకున్నాయి. నిమిషాల వ్యవధిలోనే మంటలు వ్యాపించడంతో ప్రయాణికులు హాహాకారాలు చేశారు. రైలు వేగం తగ్గుతుండటంతో ప్రాణభయంతో కొందరు ప్రయాణికులు కిందకు దూకేశారు. సమాచారం అందుకున్న రైల్వే సిబ్బంది వెంటనే రైలును నిలిపివేసి, ప్రయాణికులందరినీ ఖాళీ చేయించారు. అగ్నిమాపక యంత్రాలు ఘటనా స్థలానికి చేరుకుని మంటలను అదుపులోకి తెచ్చాయి. ఈ ప్రమాదంలో భోగిలోని సీట్లు, ప్రయాణికుల లగేజీ కొంతమేర దగ్ధమైంది.
షార్ట్ సర్క్యూటే కారణమా? ప్రాథమిక విచారణలో ఎలక్ట్రికల్ షార్ట్ సర్క్యూట్ వల్లే ఈ మంటలు చెలరేగినట్లు రైల్వే అధికారులు అనుమానిస్తున్నారు. ఈ ఘటన కారణంగా ఆలేరు – సికింద్రాబాద్ మార్గంలో రైళ్ల రాకపోకలకు తీవ్ర అంతరాయం కలిగింది. భద్రతా కారణాల దృష్ట్యా విద్యుత్ సరఫరాను నిలిపివేసి తనిఖీలు చేపట్టారు. ప్రమాదానికి గురైన భోగిని వేరు చేసిన తర్వాత రైలును గమ్యస్థానానికి పంపే ఏర్పాట్లు చేస్తున్నారు. దక్షిణ మధ్య రైల్వే ఉన్నతాధికారులు ఘటనా స్థలాన్ని సందర్శించి సమగ్ర దర్యాప్తుకు ఆదేశించారు.

The accident led to a significant disruption of train services on the Secunderabad-Warangal route. Power supply was disconnected as a safety measure while technical teams inspected the tracks. The affected coach was detached, and alternative arrangements were made to transport the passengers to their destinations. Senior officials from South Central Railway (SCR) have reached the site and ordered a high-level probe into the safety standards of the coach.
