Tirumala: To ensure a hassle-free pilgrimage experience amidst the rising summer temperatures, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has launched an extensive action plan. Under the TTD Summer Arrangements Tirumala 2026 initiative, the board has allocated Rs. 3.21 crores to provide relief to the thousands of devotees visiting the hill shrine daily.
Cool Infrastructure for Pilgrims: Tackling the scorching heat, TTD’s engineering wing has applied ‘Cool Painting’ across the four Mada streets, Vaikuntam Queue Complex, and Varaha Swamy Guest House areas at a cost of nearly Rs. 50 lakhs. This specialized coating prevents the floor from heating up, allowing devotees to walk comfortably. Additionally, advanced German Sheds have been erected in front of the main temple and at various queue points to shield pilgrims from direct sunlight.
Strategic Crowd Management: With the daily footfall expected to cross 80,000 during the summer break, TTD is utilizing its Command Control Center to monitor crowd density in real-time. Special shelters have been set up at high-traffic zones like Laddu counters, Kalyanakata, and Annaprasadam centers. The administration has also enhanced the supply of cold drinking water and maintained sanitation facilities along the trekking paths. These proactive measures by TTD have been widely appreciated by the visiting devotees, ensuring a comfortable spiritual journey despite the summer heat.
