The Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed strong dissent against the Election Commission’s (EC) directive to initiate police action regarding the social media reports on a document carrying the BJP seal. He characterized this move as a clear sign of “intolerance towards criticism” by the constitutional body and demanded a thorough investigation.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the appearance of the BJP Kerala unit’s seal on an official EC letter is “unbelievable” and cannot be viewed as a lapse by a single official. He announced that he would formally request the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) to intervene and ensure the integrity of the electoral process in Kochi.
