Hyderabad: Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) Chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha has issued an ultimatum to the state government to implement a stringent Fee Regulation Act before the commencement of the new academic year. Speaking at a round-table meeting organized by the Hyderabad Schools Parents Association, the Kalvakuntla Kavitha Fee Regulation Act Demand 2026 focused on the “loot” by private corporate educational institutions. She demanded that the act be passed within May to protect parents from arbitrary fee hikes ranging from 50% to 120%.
Allegations Against HPS and Land Grabbing: Kavitha made sensational allegations against the Hyderabad Public School (HPS), claiming massive corruption and a 120% fee hike this year. She pointed out that a single individual has held a key position for 14 years, fostering malpractice. She also alleged that individuals close to the Chief Minister are attempting to encroach upon 30 acres of the prestigious school’s campus land. “There is no accountability for the donations given by alumni like Satya Nadella,” she remarked, demanding a comprehensive review of HPS operations.
Call for Release of Pending Dues: The TRS leader urged the government to immediately release ₹11,000 crore in pending fee reimbursement arrears, stating that delays are leading to increased student dropouts. She criticized the new MS-7 GO as a conspiracy to end the reimbursement scheme and demanded its immediate revocation. Kavitha promised that if TRS comes to power, free education and healthcare would be provided to the poor. Student organizations like SFI and various parents’ associations joined the call, criticizing the government for allocating only 6% funds to education instead of the recommended 18%.
