అమరావతి: ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రంలో నీటి భద్రతను పటిష్టం చేసేందుకు ముఖ్యమంత్రి నారా చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు Jala Dhara Action Plan ను ప్రకటించారు. బుధవారం జలవనరుల శాఖపై నిర్వహించిన ఉన్నత స్థాయి సమీక్షలో ఆయన కీలక ఆదేశాలు జారీ చేశారు. పోలవరం ప్రాజెక్టు పూర్తి కాగానే గోదావరి జలాలను కుడి, ఎడమ కాలువల ద్వారా ఏయే అవసరాలకు ఎంత మేర వినియోగించుకోవాలనే దానిపై నిర్దుష్టమైన ప్రణాళిక సిద్ధం చేయాలని సూచించారు. కాలువలకు అనుసంధానంగా ఉన్న చెరువులు, రిజర్వాయర్లను నింపడమే ఈ యాక్షన్ ప్లాన్ ప్రధాన లక్ష్యమని సీఎం స్పష్టం చేశారు.

ఈ సమీక్షలో భాగంగా వెలిగొండ స్టేజ్ 1 పనులను జూన్ చివరి కల్లా పూర్తి చేయాలని అధికారులను సీఎం ఆదేశించారు. శ్రీకాకుళం జిల్లాలోని నేరడి బ్యారేజ్, చింతలపూడి మెయిన్ కెనాల్ పనులకు త్వరలోనే టెండర్లు పిలవాలని స్పష్టం చేశారు. వంశధార-నాగావళి అనుసంధానం ఈ ఏడాది డిసెంబర్ నాటికి పూర్తి కావాలని లక్ష్యంగా నిర్దేశించారు. రాయలసీమకు హంద్రీనీవా ద్వారా నీటిని తరలించే ప్రక్రియను వేగవంతం చేయాలని, భూగర్భ జలాల పెంపునకు ‘జల హారతి’ కార్యక్రమాన్ని 100 రోజుల కార్యాచరణతో ముందుకు తీసుకెళ్లాలని సూచించారు.
పర్యాటక కేంద్రంగా పోలవరం
పోలవరం ప్రాజెక్టును కేవలం సాగునీటి వనరుగానే కాకుండా, ఒక ప్రతిష్టాత్మక పర్యాటక కేంద్రంగా తీర్చిదిద్దాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి నిర్ణయించారు. ప్రాజెక్టు పరిసరాల్లో హోటల్స్, షాపింగ్ ఏరియాలు మరియు వాటర్ స్పోర్ట్స్ థీమ్తో సుందరీకరణ పనులు చేపట్టాలని డిజైన్లను పరిశీలించారు. పోలవరం నుంచి పాపికొండలు, భద్రాచలం వరకు బోటింగ్ సౌకర్యం కల్పించేలా ప్రణాళికలు సిద్ధం చేయాలన్నారు. వచ్చే గోదావరి పుష్కరాల నాటికి ప్రాజెక్టును పూర్తి చేసి జాతికి అంకితం చేయడమే ప్రభుత్వ లక్ష్యమని ముఖ్యమంత్రి వెల్లడించారు.

Expediting Key Irrigation Projects
The Chief Minister set strict deadlines for ongoing projects, ordering the completion of Veligonda Stage 1 by the end of June 2026. He also gave the green light for calling tenders for the Neradi Barrage and the Chintalapudi main canal. Highlighting the importance of North Andhra projects, the CM insisted on completing the Vamsadhara-Nagavali link by December this year. Under the ‘Jala Harathi’ 100-day action plan, the government aims to cover over 13,000 villages to enhance groundwater levels, which have already shown an improvement of 0.79 meters compared to last year.
Polavaram as a Tourism Hub
In a move to boost the state’s tourism profile, CM Naidu envisioned the Polavaram project site as a world-class tourist destination. He reviewed designs featuring hotels, shopping zones, and water-rock-forest-themed sports areas. The proposal includes boating facilities from Polavaram to Bhadrachalam via the scenic Papi Hills. Aiming to complete the project by the upcoming Godavari Pushkarams, the CM instructed officials to finish critical works like the ECRF dam gaps by March next year, ensuring the state’s lifeline is ready to serve the people.
