అమరావతి: ప్రపంచ మలేరియా దినోత్సవాన్ని (ఏప్రిల్ 25) పురస్కరించుకుని ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ వైద్య ఆరోగ్య శాఖ మంత్రి శ్రీ సత్యకుమార్ యాదవ్ రాష్ట్ర ప్రజలకు కీలక సమాచారాన్ని అందించారు. రాష్ట్రంలో మలేరియా జ్వరాల నియంత్రణ కోసం ప్రభుత్వం పటిష్టమైన చర్యలు తీసుకుంటోందని, ఇందులో భాగంగా బాపట్ల, పశ్చిమ గోదావరి, కోనసీమ జిల్లాలను ‘మలేరియా రహిత జిల్లాలు’గా ప్రకటించేందుకు కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వానికి ప్రతిపాదనలు పంపనున్నట్లు వెల్లడించారు. తగ్గుముఖం పట్టిన కేసులు – నివారణ చర్యలు: రాష్ట్రంలో 2024-25 నుంచి మలేరియా కేసులు గణనీయంగా తగ్గుతున్నాయని మంత్రి తెలిపారు. 2024-25లో 7,871 కేసులు ఉండగా, 2025-26 నాటికి అవి 7,199కి తగ్గాయని, ఈ ఏడాది మొదటి 16 వారాల్లో కేవలం 899 కేసులు మాత్రమే నమోదయ్యాయని వివరించారు. రాబోయే వర్షాలను దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకుని ఇళ్లల్లో క్రిమిసంహారక మందు పిచికారీ చేసే ‘ఇండోర్ రెసిడ్యువల్ స్ప్రే’ కార్యక్రమాన్ని చేపట్టబోతున్నట్లు ప్రకటించారు. ముఖ్యంగా గిరిజన ప్రాంతాలైన అల్లూరి సీతారామరాజు, మన్యం జిల్లాలతో పాటు మరో 13 జిల్లాల్లో ఆగస్టు 30 నాటికి ఈ స్ప్రే కార్యక్రమాన్ని పూర్తి చేస్తామన్నారు.
2030 నాటికి లక్ష్యం: మలేరియా రహిత రాష్ట్రంగా తీర్చిదిద్దేందుకు ప్రభుత్వం సుమారు రూ. 10 కోట్ల వ్యయంతో దోమల తెరల పంపిణీ మరియు అవగాహన కార్యక్రమాలను నిర్వహిస్తోంది. గిరిజన ప్రాంతాల్లో ఇప్పటికే 2.55 లక్షల దోమల తెరల పంపిణీ ప్రక్రియ కొనసాగుతోందని మంత్రి తెలిపారు. ప్రతి వెయ్యి జనాభాలో రెండు కేసులు నమోదైన గ్రామాల్లో ప్రత్యేక దృష్టి సారించామని, 2030 నాటికి రాష్ట్రం నుండి మలేరియాను పూర్తిగా పారద్రోలడమే లక్ష్యంగా ముందుకు సాగుతున్నామని సత్యకుమార్ యాదవ్ స్పష్టం చేశారు.

Amaravati: On the eve of World Malaria Day, Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav announced a major milestone in the state’s healthcare journey. The government is all set to submit proposals to the Central Government to declare Bapatla, West Godavari, and Konaseema as “Malaria-Free Districts.” The Satya Kumar Yadav AP Malaria Free Districts Proposals 2026 initiative highlights that these three districts have not reported any indigenous malaria cases for the past three years.
Declining Trends and Preventive Measures: Minister Satya Kumar revealed that malaria cases in the state have seen a downward trend since 2024. From 7,871 cases in 2024-25, the numbers dropped to 7,199 in 2025-26, with only 899 cases reported in the first 16 weeks of the current year. To prevent further outbreaks during the monsoon, the health department has launched an ‘Indoor Residual Spray’ (IRS) program. This initiative, costing approximately Rs. 10 crores, targets high-risk tribal areas such as Alluri Sitharama Raju and Manyam districts, as well as 13 other selected districts, with a completion deadline of August 30.
Mission 2030: The state government is committed to significantly reducing malaria cases by 2030 through a robust action plan. This includes the distribution of 2.55 lakh long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) to 1.95 lakh families and student hostels in tribal regions. Minister Satya Kumar emphasized that villages reporting more than two cases per thousand people are being monitored closely. Following the state’s proposal next month, a central team will visit the nominated districts for verification before the official ‘Malaria Elimination’ declaration. The Minister urged the public to utilize hospital services and follow preventive measures to ensure a healthy, malaria-free Andhra Pradesh.
