గుంటూరు నగరంలో గురువారం మధ్యాహ్నం భారీ అగ్నిప్రమాదం (Guntur Fire Accident) సంభవించింది. నగరంలోని ప్రముఖ ఇన్నర్ రింగ్ రోడ్డు సమీపంలో ఉన్న ప్రకాష్ నగర్ 3వ లైన్ వద్ద రోడ్డు పక్కన నిల్వ ఉంచిన అండర్ డ్రైనేజ్ (భూగర్భ మురుగునీటి వ్యవస్థ) పైపులకు అకస్మాత్తుగా నిప్పు అంటుకుంది. ఇవి ప్లాస్టిక్ మరియు ఫైబర్ సంబంధిత పైపులు కావడంతో మంటలు క్షణాల వ్యవధిలోనే తీవ్రరూపం దాల్చాయి. మంటలు ఆకాశాన్నంటుతూ భారీగా ఎగసిపడటంతో ఆ ప్రాంతమంతా దట్టమైన నల్లటి పొగలు కమ్ముకున్నాయి. దీంతో ఇన్నర్ రింగ్ రోడ్డు పరిసర ప్రాంతాల ప్రజలు తీవ్ర భయాందోళనలకు గురయ్యారు.
ప్రమాదం జరిగిన వెంటనే స్థానికులు అగ్నిమాపక కేంద్రానికి సమాచారం అందించారు. సమాచారం అందుకున్న వెంటనే అగ్నిమాపక సిబ్బంది రెండు ఫైర్ ఇంజన్ వాహనాలతో వేగంగా సంఘటనా స్థలానికి చేరుకున్నారు. మంటలు పక్కనే ఉన్న నివాస ప్రాంతాలకు వ్యాపించకుండా ఉండేందుకు సిబ్బంది తీవ్రంగా శ్రమిస్తున్నారు. ఈ ప్రమాదానికి గల ఖచ్చితమైన కారణాలు మరియు ఎంతమేర ఆస్తి నష్టం సంభవించింది అనే వివరాలు ఇంకా తెలియాల్సి ఉంది. స్థానిక పోలీసులు ఘటనా స్థలాన్ని పరిశీలించి కేసు నమోదు చేసుకుని దర్యాప్తు ప్రారంభించారు.

ఈ ప్రమాదం కారణంగా వెలువడిన దట్టమైన నల్లటి పొగలు కిలోమీటరు దూరం వరకు వ్యాపించాయి. దీంతో ఇన్నర్ రింగ్ రోడ్డుపై వెళ్లే వాహనదారులు తీవ్ర ఇబ్బందులు ఎదుర్కొన్నారు. పైపులను రోడ్డు పక్కనే బహిరంగ ప్రదేశంలో నిల్వ ఉంచడం, ఎండ తీవ్రత ఎక్కువగా ఉండటం వల్లే ప్రమాదం జరిగిందా? లేక ఎవరైనా ప్రమాదవశాత్తు నిప్పు పెట్టారా అనే కోణంలో పోలీసులు విచారణ జరుపుతున్నారు.

A massive fire accident (Guntur Fire Accident) broke out near the Inner Ring Road in Guntur city on Thursday. The fire reportedly started at the underground drainage pipes stored on the roadside at Prakash Nagar 3rd Line. As the stored materials were mostly heavy-duty plastic pipes meant for the underground sewage system, the fire spread within seconds.
