Despite being the sibling of party chief Pawan Kalyan and holding a high-ranking position, Naga Babu is experiencing a lack of support from official machinery during his visits. The Janasena cadre is fuming over the fact that Naga Babu was not invited to official programs, such as the Arasavalli Ratha Saptami and Surya Narayana Swamy Kalyanotsavam festivals.

Naga Babu has formally lodged a complaint with the Legislative Council office regarding these protocol violations. Following this, the Secretary General wrote a letter to the District Collector, and the state government subsequently issued orders to ensure that protocol is strictly followed during the MLC’s visits. However, this move has stirred local politics, as TDP veteran Kala Venkata Rao is eyeing this seat for his son, Ram Mallik Naidu, in 2029. Additionally, Vizianagaram MP Kalisetti Appalanadu, who hails from this constituency, is also rumored to be planning a contest from here in the next elections.

Undeterred by these challenges, Naga Babu plans to spend more time in Etcherla—roughly three to four days a week—to build a strong ground-level presence. As Janasena aims to strengthen its hold in North Andhra, Naga Babu’s increased activity in Etcherla is seen as a strategic move approved by Pawan Kalyan. The ongoing protocol issues highlight the friction between the alliance partners at the local level despite their cooperation at the state level.
