Pithapuramకు ప్రమోషన్.. ఇక నిధుల వరదే!
ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ఉప ముఖ్యమంత్రి పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ ప్రాతినిధ్యం వహిస్తున్న పిఠాపురం నియోజకవర్గానికి రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం తీపికబురు అందించింది. పిఠాపురం మున్సిపాలిటీని సెకండ్ గ్రేడ్ నుంచి ‘సెలక్షన్ గ్రేడ్’ మున్సిపాలిటీగా అప్గ్రేడ్ చేస్తూ ప్రభుత్వం అధికారిక ఉత్తర్వులు జారీ చేసింది. పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ ప్రత్యేక చొరవతో, మున్సిపాలిటీ ఆదాయ-వ్యయాలను పరిగణనలోకి తీసుకున్న ప్రభుత్వం ఈ నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది. సాధారణంగా వార్షిక ఆదాయం రూ. 8 కోట్లు దాటిన మున్సిపాలిటీలకు ఈ హోదా దక్కుతుంది. పిఠాపురం ఆధ్యాత్మికంగా అభివృద్ధి చెందడం, భక్తుల తాకిడి పెరగడంతో ఆదాయం గణనీయంగా పెరిగింది.
ఈ హోదా మార్పుతో పిఠాపురానికి అనేక ప్రయోజనాలు చేకూరనున్నాయి. ఇకపై మున్సిపల్ కమిషనర్గా గ్రూప్-1 స్థాయి అధికారిని నియమించనున్నారు. అంతేకాకుండా, సిబ్బంది సంఖ్య పెరగడంతో పాటు కేంద్ర, రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వాల నుంచి భారీగా అభివృద్ధి నిధులు వచ్చే అవకాశం ఉంది. ఇప్పటికే పిఠాపురం అభివృద్ధి కోసం ‘పిఠాపురం ఏరియా డెవలప్మెంట్ అథారిటీ’ (PADA) ఏర్పాటు చేసిన సంగతి తెలిసిందే. తాజాగా మున్సిపాలిటీ హోదా పెరగడం వల్ల మౌలిక సదుపాయాల కల్పన మరింత వేగవంతం కానుంది.

రైల్వే స్టేషన్ అభివృద్ధి మరియు మౌలిక వసతులు
మున్సిపాలిటీ హోదాతో పాటు, పిఠాపురం రైల్వే స్టేషన్కు కూడా మహర్దశ పట్టనుంది. కేంద్ర రైల్వే శాఖ మంత్రి అశ్వినీ వైష్ణవ్తో పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ జరిపిన చర్చల ఫలితంగా, పిఠాపురం రైల్వే స్టేషన్ను ‘అమృత్ భారత్ స్టేషన్ల’ పథకం కింద ఎంపిక చేశారు. దీని కోసం రూ. 37.25 కోట్ల నిధులను మంజూరు చేశారు. ఈ నిధులతో స్టేషన్లో అత్యాధునిక మౌలిక సదుపాయాలు, సుందరీకరణ పనులు చేపట్టనున్నారు. సుదూర ప్రాంతాల నుంచి వచ్చే భక్తులకు ఇది ఎంతో సౌకర్యవంతంగా ఉండనుంది.
ఆధ్యాత్మికంగా పాదగయ క్షేత్రం, పురుహుతికా దేవి ఆలయం వంటి పుణ్యక్షేత్రాలతో విరాజిల్లుతున్న పిఠాపురాన్ని మోడల్ నియోజకవర్గంగా తీర్చిదిద్దడమే లక్ష్యంగా ప్రభుత్వం అడుగులు వేస్తోంది. అటు రైల్వే స్టేషన్ ఆధునీకరణ, ఇటు మున్సిపాలిటీ హోదా పెంపుతో పిఠాపురం రూపురేఖలు త్వరలోనే మారిపోనున్నాయి. మౌలిక సదుపాయాల మెరుగుదల వల్ల స్థానిక ప్రజలతో పాటు పర్యాటకులకు కూడా మెరుగైన సేవలు అందనున్నాయి.

In a major boost to Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan’s constituency, the Andhra Pradesh government has upgraded the Pithapuram Municipality from Second Grade to ‘Selection Grade’ status. This elevation comes after a thorough review of the municipality’s income and expenditure from 2021 to 2025. Pawan Kalyan’s personal initiative in pushing for this upgrade ensures that the town will now receive higher funding and administrative support. Municipalities with an annual income of Rs. 8 crore or more are eligible for this prestigious status, which also allows for the appointment of a Group-1 officer as Commissioner.
The upgrade is expected to transform Pithapuram, a significant spiritual hub home to shrines like Padagaya Kshetram and the Puruhutika Devi temple. With the new status, there will be an increase in staff strength and a surge in developmental grants from both state and central governments. This follows the recent establishment of the Pithapuram Area Development Authority (PADA) to oversee regional growth.
Furthermore, the Pithapuram Railway Station has been included in the ‘Amrit Bharat Station Scheme’ following Pawan Kalyan’s meeting with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. A budget of Rs. 37.25 crore has been sanctioned to modernize the station with world-class amenities. These combined efforts in urban and transport infrastructure are set to make Pithapuram a premier destination for pilgrims and a model of urban development in the state.
