Coimbatore/Chennai: A leisure trip turned into a horrific nightmare as ten tourists from Kerala were killed after their van plunged into an 800-foot deep gorge near Valparai in Coimbatore district on Saturday morning. Local residents and emergency services rushed to the spot, but ten people had already succumbed to their injuries on site. Six others, who were critically injured, have been shifted to the Pollachi Government Hospital for emergency treatment. Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine if the crash was caused by a mechanical failure or driver fatigue.
