సీఎం మమతా బెనర్జీ ఈ చర్యను తీవ్రంగా ఖండించారు. మైనారిటీలు, మతువా మరియు రాజ్బంశీ సామాజిక వర్గాల ఓట్లను లక్ష్యంగా చేసుకుని Voter List నుండి తొలగించారని ఆమె ఆరోపించారు. ముఖ్యంగా ముర్షీదాబాద్, మాల్దా వంటి జిల్లాల్లో భారీగా ఓట్లు గల్లంతు కావడంపై ఆమె అభ్యంతరం వ్యక్తం చేశారు.

The special summary revision of the Voter List in West Bengal has sparked a major controversy following the deletion of nearly 91 lakh names. Though the Election Commission is yet to issue a formal statement, data suggests a massive cleanup operation.
Out of 90.83 lakh voters removed initially, 27.16 lakh were permanently deleted after judicial scrutiny. With nomination deadlines passing, these individuals are now in a legal limbo regarding their right to vote in the upcoming phases.
TMC vs BJP: The Political Fallout
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee alleged that the Voter List was manipulated to exclude minorities and specific communities like Matuas and Rajbanshis. She claimed that her intervention led to the restoration of 32 lakh names that were previously marked as doubtful.
The BJP, however, accused the TMC of spreading misinformation. Election officials noted that further changes to the Voter List are restricted by law once nominations are filed, unless a specific directive is issued by the Supreme Court.
