New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) officially announced the Class 12 examination results on Wednesday. The CBSE Class 12 Results 2026 Girl Students Dominate narrative continues this year as female candidates outperformed their male counterparts by a significant margin. Girls recorded a pass percentage of 88.86%, while boys stood at 82.13%, showcasing a dominance gap of 6.73%. The overall national pass percentage for 2026 settled at 85.20%, marking a slight dip compared to the previous academic year.

Performance and Toppers’ Statistics: Out of the 17,68,968 students who appeared for the exams, Thiruvananthapuram emerged as the best-performing region with a stellar 95.62% pass rate. Conversely, Prayagraj recorded the lowest pass percentage at 72.43%. Despite the overall dip in passing rates, high scorers were in abundance; over 94,000 students secured more than 90% marks, and a select elite group of 17,000 students crossed the prestigious 95% milestone.

Rise in Compartment Category: A point of concern for the board was the increase in the compartment category. More than 1,63,000 students have been placed in this segment, reflecting a 2% rise over last year’s figures. Officials stated that the drop in the overall pass percentage from 88.39% to 85.20% is due to strict evaluation standards. Students can now access their digital marksheets via the official CBSE portal or DigiLocker. The Board also announced that schedules for supplementary examinations will be released shortly to assist those in the compartment category.
