విశాఖపట్నం: విశాఖ నగరాన్ని అంతర్జాతీయ స్థాయి హంగులతో తీర్చిదిద్దేందుకు కూటమి ప్రభుత్వం భారీ ప్రణాళికలు రూపొందిస్తోంది. Minister Narayana Visakhapatnam Drinking Water Project 2026 లో భాగంగా నగర ప్రజల దాహార్తిని శాశ్వతంగా తీర్చేందుకు రూ. 14 వేల కోట్లతో భారీ తాగునీటి ప్రాజెక్టును చేపట్టనున్నట్లు పురపాలక శాఖ మంత్రి పి. నారాయణ వెల్లడించారు. విశాఖపట్నం మెట్రో రీజియన్ డెవలప్మెంట్ అథారిటీ (VMRDA) మాస్టర్ ప్లాన్పై శనివారం అధికారులతో నిర్వహించిన సమీక్షా సమావేశంలో ఆయన ఈ కీలక ప్రకటన చేశారు. ఈ ప్రాజెక్ట్ పూర్తయితే నగరంలోని 95 శాతం ఇళ్లకు నేరుగా తాగునీటి కుళాయి కనెక్షన్లు అందుతాయని ఆయన ధీమా వ్యక్తం చేశారు.

మాస్టర్ ప్లాన్ మార్పులు – సెమీ రింగ్ రోడ్డు: 2021లో రూపొందించిన VMRDA మాస్టర్ ప్లాన్పై సుమారు 3,720 అభ్యంతరాలు రాగా, వాటిలో 90 శాతం పరిష్కరించినట్లు మంత్రి తెలిపారు. నగరం నలుమూలలా విస్తరిస్తున్న నేపథ్యంలో రాంబిల్లి నుంచి భోగాపురం వరకు 102 కిలోమీటర్ల మేర ‘సెమీ రింగ్ రోడ్డు’ నిర్మించనున్నట్లు ప్రకటించారు. దీనికి సంబంధించిన డీపీఆర్ (DPR) ఈ నెలాఖరుకల్లా సిద్ధమవుతుందని చెప్పారు. అలాగే భోగాపురం అంతర్జాతీయ విమానాశ్రయానికి మెరుగైన రవాణా సౌకర్యం కల్పించేందుకు VMRDA ద్వారా ఏడు కనెక్టింగ్ రోడ్లను నిర్మిస్తున్నట్లు, ఇప్పటికే మూడు రోడ్లు పూర్తయ్యాయని ఆయన పేర్కొన్నారు.
అభివృద్ధికి కేంద్ర నిధులు: రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా మున్సిపాలిటీల్లో తాగునీరు మరియు పారిశుద్ధ్య పనుల కోసం కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం ‘అర్బన్ ఛాలెంజ్ ఫండ్’ (UCF) కింద రూ. 14 వేల కోట్లు మంజూరు చేసే అవకాశం ఉందని మంత్రి తెలిపారు. విశాఖను స్లమ్ ఫ్రీ (మురికివాడలు లేని) నగరంగా మార్చడమే తమ లక్ష్యమని, దీనికోసం మాస్టర్ ప్లాన్లో అవసరమైన మార్పులు చేస్తున్నామని చెప్పారు. భూ ఆక్రమణలపై ఉక్కుపాదం మోపుతామని, ప్రభుత్వ భూములను ప్రజా ప్రయోజనాల కోసం, అంటే కమ్యూనిటీ హాళ్లు, పాఠశాలలు మరియు ఆసుపత్రుల నిర్మాణానికి వినియోగిస్తామని మంత్రి నారాయణ స్పష్టం చేశారు.

Visakhapatnam: In a major move to transform Visakhapatnam into a world-class city, Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana announced a massive infrastructure overhaul. Highlighting the Minister Narayana Visakhapatnam Drinking Water Project 2026, he stated that the government has earmarked ₹14,000 crore to ensure a 24/7 drinking water supply for the city. During a review meeting with VMRDA officials on Saturday, the Minister emphasized that this ambitious project aims to provide direct tap water connections to 95% of households in Visakhapatnam, effectively ending the city’s long-standing water woes.
VMRDA Master Plan and Connectivity: Addressing the concerns regarding the VMRDA Master Plan 2021, Minister Narayana revealed that nearly 90% of the 3,720 objections received from the public have been resolved. To keep up with the city’s rapid expansion, a 102-km ‘Semi Ring Road’ connecting Rambilli to Bhogapuram has been proposed, with the Detailed Project Report (DPR) expected by the end of this month. Additionally, VMRDA is actively constructing seven connecting roads to the upcoming Bhogapuram International Airport, three of which are already operational. A dedicated beach corridor is also in the works to boost tourism and connectivity.
Urban Transformation and Central Funds: The Minister disclosed that the Central Government is likely to sanction an additional ₹14,000 crore under the Urban Challenge Fund (UCF) for water supply and sanitation projects across the state. “Our vision is to make Visakhapatnam a slum-free city by 2047,” Narayana stated, adding that modern urban planning and robust infrastructure are the keys to this transformation. He further warned encroachers of government lands, stating that every cent of recovered land would be utilized for public amenities like community halls and schools. These developmental initiatives are set to redefine the skyline and livability of Andhra’s financial capital in the coming years.
