The governing body of the renowned Srikalahasti Temple in Tirupati district has announced a significant revision in the prices of Rahu Ketu Pooja tickets. Influenced by the surging global silver prices due to the conflict in West Asia, the board decided to increase the Rs. 5,000 ticket to Rs. 6,000. Under the leadership of MLA Bojjala Sudheer Reddy and Temple Chairman Kotte Sai Prasad, the meeting approved 14 key resolutions, including the cancellation of the Rs. 500 pooja category to streamline operations.
In a move to make the Rahu Ketu Pooja more accessible to the common man, the board introduced a special Rs. 100 collective pooja for local residents of the Srikalahasti constituency who hold white ration cards. This facility will be exclusively available on Wednesdays. Following the revision, the new pricing tiers for the Rahu Ketu Pooja stand at Rs. 750, Rs. 1,500, Rs. 2,500, and Rs. 6,000. These changes aim to balance temple revenue with devotee welfare amid fluctuating commodity costs.
Furthermore, the board decided to provide one free Laddu and one Vada to devotees opting for the Rs. 500 Antharalaya Darshan. Plans to enhance the Bharadwaja Teertham and establish modern waiting rooms to reduce queue times were also greenlit. Known as one of South India’s holiest Shiva temples and the premier destination for Sarpa Dosha Nivarana, Srikalahasti continues to reform its administrative policies to ensure a hassle-free spiritual experience for thousands of pilgrims visiting the swayambhu Spatika Lingam.
