నియోజకవర్గాల పునర్విభజనపై ప్రధాని మోదీకి CM Revanth Reddy లేఖ
నియోజకవర్గాల పునర్విభజన (Delimitation) ప్రక్రియపై తెలంగాణ ముఖ్యమంత్రి CM Revanth Reddy కీలక నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నారు. లోక్సభ స్థానాల పెంపుదల విషయంలో కేవలం జనాభా ప్రాతిపదికన కాకుండా, రాష్ట్రాల అభివృద్ధిని కూడా పరిగణనలోకి తీసుకోవాలని కోరుతూ ప్రధానమంత్రి నరేంద్ర మోదీకి ఆయన బహిరంగ లేఖ రాశారు. ప్రొరాటా పద్ధతి వల్ల జనాభా నియంత్రణ పాటించిన దక్షిణాది రాష్ట్రాలు నష్టపోయే ప్రమాదం ఉందని, అందుకే అందరికీ ఆమోదయోగ్యమైన “హైబ్రిడ్ మోడల్”ను అమలు చేయాలని ఆయన ప్రతిపాదించారు.
ఈ అంశంపై దక్షిణాది రాష్ట్రాల ముఖ్యమంత్రులు ఏకతాటిపైకి రావాలని రేవంత్ రెడ్డి పిలుపునిచ్చారు. తమిళనాడు, ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్, కేరళ, కర్ణాటక, పుదుచ్చేరి సీఎంలకు ఆయన విడివిడిగా లేఖలు రాస్తూ.. నియోజకవర్గాల సంఖ్య పెంపుదల వల్ల దక్షిణాది రాష్ట్రాల రాజకీయ ప్రాధాన్యత తగ్గకుండా చూడాల్సిన బాధ్యత అందరిపై ఉందన్నారు.
హైబ్రిడ్ మోడల్ ప్రతిపాదన మరియు మహిళా రిజర్వేషన్ ప్రస్తుతమున్న 543 స్థానాలను అలాగే ఉంచి, అదనంగా పెంచే స్థానాల్లో 50 శాతం జనాభా ప్రాతిపదికన, మిగిలిన 50 శాతం రాష్ట్రాల ఆర్థిక అభివృద్ధి (GSDP) మరియు ఇతర అభివృద్ధి సూచీలను బట్టి కేటాయించాలని రేవంత్ రెడ్డి సూచించారు. దీనివల్ల జనాభాను నియంత్రించిన రాష్ట్రాలకు తగిన గుర్తింపు లభిస్తుందని ఆయన అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు.
అలాగే, నియోజకవర్గాల పునర్విభజనతో సంబంధం లేకుండా మహిళా రిజర్వేషన్ బిల్లును తక్షణమే అమలు చేయాలని ఆయన డిమాండ్ చేశారు. మహిళలకు 33 శాతం కోటాను ప్రస్తుతమున్న సీట్లలోనే వర్తింపజేయవచ్చని, దీనికి కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ పూర్తి మద్దతు ఇస్తుందని స్పష్టం చేశారు. ఈ ప్రక్రియలో అన్ని రాజకీయ పార్టీల ఏకాభిప్రాయం తీసుకోవాలని ఆయన కోరారు.

Telangana Chief Minister CM Revanth Reddy has taken a significant stand on the Delimitation process of Lok Sabha constituencies. He wrote an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to reconsider the pro-rata basis for increasing seats. He proposed a “Hybrid Model” to ensure that southern states, which have successfully implemented population control measures, are not penalized in terms of political representation.
The Chief Minister also reached out to the CMs of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, and Puducherry, calling for a collective voice. He emphasized that increasing Lok Sabha seats solely based on population would diminish the political significance of southern states that contribute significantly to the national economy.
Hybrid Model and Women Reservation Under the proposed Hybrid Model, CM Revanth Reddy suggested that while maintaining the current 543 seats, 50% of the newly added seats should be allocated based on population, and the remaining 50% should be based on economic performance (GSDP) and development metrics. This approach aims to balance democratic representation with rewarding state efficiency.
Furthermore, he urged the Prime Minister to implement the Women’s Reservation Bill immediately without waiting for the Delimitation process. He stated that the 33% reservation for women could be applied to existing seats and assured full support from the Congress party. He called for a consensus among all political parties to maintain the spirit of “Unity in Diversity.”
