ఎల్బీనగర్ నుంచి హయత్ నగర్ వరకు రూ.941 కోట్లతో డబుల్ డెక్కర్ కారిడార్
హైదరాబాద్ నగరవాసులకు తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం భారీ శుభవార్త వినిపించింది. ఎల్బీనగర్ నుంచి హయత్ నగర్ వరకు దాదాపు రూ.941 కోట్లతో అత్యాధునిక Double Decker Corridor నిర్మించేందుకు ప్రణాళికలు సిద్ధం చేసింది. ఈ ప్రాజెక్టు పూర్తయితే విజయవాడ హైవేపై నిత్యం ఎదురయ్యే ట్రాఫిక్ నరకానికి శాశ్వత పరిష్కారం లభిస్తుందని అధికారులు భావిస్తున్నారు.
ఈ ప్రతిష్టాత్మక ప్రాజెక్టులో భాగంగా 5.50 కిలోమీటర్ల మేర ఎలివేటెడ్ కారిడార్ను నిర్మిస్తారు. దీని ప్రత్యేకత ఏమిటంటే, నాగ్ పూర్ తరహాలో ఒకే పిల్లర్పై కింద మూడు వరుసల వాహనదారుల రహదారి, దాని పైన రెండు వరుసల మెట్రో రైలు మార్గం అందుబాటులోకి వస్తాయి. ఈ నిర్మాణానికి సంబంధించి కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం ఇప్పటికే గ్రీన్ సిగ్నల్ ఇచ్చింది.
మెట్రో మరియు రహదారి అనుసంధానం గతంలో ఎల్బీ నగర్ నుంచి హయత్ నగర్ వరకు 7.1 కిలోమీటర్ల మేర మెట్రో విస్తరణకు ప్రతిపాదనలు ఉండగా, ఇప్పుడు దానిని ఎలివేటెడ్ కారిడార్తో కలిపి Double Decker Corridor గా మార్చారు. దీనివల్ల నిర్మాణ ఖర్చు తగ్గడమే కాకుండా, స్థల సేకరణ సమస్యలు కూడా తప్పుతాయని ప్రభుత్వం భావిస్తోంది. కేంద్రం తన వాటాగా రూ.741 కోట్లు, రాష్ట్రం రూ.200 కోట్లు వెచ్చించనున్నాయి.
రాష్ట్ర రోడ్లు, భవనాల శాఖ మంత్రి కోమటిరెడ్డి వెంకటరెడ్డి అసెంబ్లీలో వెల్లడించిన వివరాల ప్రకారం, రాబోయే ఆరు నెలల్లోనే ఈ ప్రాజెక్టుకు సంబంధించి టెండర్ల ప్రక్రియ ప్రారంభం కానుంది. ఈ హైవే అందుబాటులోకి వస్తే ఎల్బీనగర్ చుట్టుపక్కల ఉన్న కాలనీల ప్రజలకు ప్రయాణ సమయం భారీగా తగ్గుతుంది. వాహనదారులు గంటల తరబడి సిగ్నళ్ల వద్ద వేచి ఉండాల్సిన అవసరం ఉండదు.

The Telangana government has announced a massive infrastructure project to ease traffic congestion on the busy LB Nagar to Hayathnagar stretch. A 5.50 km long Double Decker Corridor will be constructed with an estimated budget of ₹941 crore. This project is expected to be a game-changer for commuters traveling towards the Vijayawada highway.
The project features a unique integrated design where the lower deck will serve as a three-lane elevated road for vehicles, and the upper deck will carry the Hyderabad Metro rail. The Central Government has already approved the proposal and will contribute ₹741 crore, while the State Government will provide the remaining ₹200 crore.
Integration of Metro and Roadway Earlier, there were separate plans for a 7.1 km metro extension and an elevated highway, but the government decided to merge them into a Double Decker Corridor for better efficiency. This model, similar to the one in Nagpur, saves space and resources while providing a multi-modal transport solution for the citizens.
Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy stated that the tender process for this project will commence within the next six months. Once completed, this corridor will significantly reduce travel time and eliminate the long traffic jams frequently witnessed at LB Nagar and surrounding junctions, providing a smoother experience for daily commuters.
