Tirumala Accommodation Shortage : టైమ్ స్లాట్ భక్తులకు గదుల కష్టాలు!
తిరుమల శ్రీవారి దర్శనం కోసం వచ్చే భక్తులకు వసతి పరంగా కొత్త సవాళ్లు ఎదురవుతున్నాయి. తిరుమలలో గదుల కొరత తీవ్రంగా ఉండటంతో, Tirumala Accommodation Shortage దృష్ట్యా టైమ్ స్లాట్ టోకెన్ (SSD) కలిగిన భక్తులకు గదుల కేటాయింపును టీటీడీ అధికారులు నిలిపివేశారు. గతంలో తిరుపతిలోని శ్రీనివాసం, విష్ణునివాసం వంటి ప్రాంతాల్లో టోకెన్లు పొందిన భక్తులు కొండపైకి చేరుకుని సిఫార్సు లేఖల ద్వారా గదులు పొందేవారు. అయితే, పెరుగుతున్న భక్తుల రద్దీ దృష్ట్యా ఈ విధానాన్ని పూర్తిగా రద్దు చేస్తున్నట్లు టీటీడీ ప్రకటించింది.
ప్రస్తుతం రోజువారీగా సుమారు 20 వేల వరకు ఆఫ్లైన్ టైమ్ స్లాట్ టోకెన్లు జారీ అవుతున్నాయి. ఈ టోకెన్లు పొందిన భక్తులు తమకు కేటాయించిన సమయానికి రెండు గంటల ముందు మాత్రమే కొండపైకి చేరుకోవాలని, అంతకంటే ముందుగా వచ్చి గదుల కోసం నిరీక్షించవద్దని అధికారులు విజ్ఞప్తి చేస్తున్నారు. ఆన్లైన్లో రూ. 300 ప్రత్యేక ప్రవేశ దర్శనం టిక్కెట్లు బుక్ చేసుకున్న వారికి కూడా ప్రత్యేకంగా గదుల కేటాయింపు ఉండదని, సాఫ్ట్వేర్లో చేసిన మార్పుల ప్రకారం కేవలం సుదూర ప్రాంతాల భక్తులకు మాత్రమే ప్రాధాన్యత ఉంటుందని వెల్లడించారు.

Pilgrims visiting Tirumala are facing significant challenges regarding lodging as the Tirumala Accommodation Shortage intensifies. TTD officials have announced a suspension of room allocations for devotees holding Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) or time-slot tokens. Previously, pilgrims obtaining offline tokens at complexes like Srinivasam or Vishnu Nivasam in Tirupati could secure rooms in Tirumala via recommendation letters. However, citing the overwhelming influx of pilgrims, TTD has officially scrapped this practice to manage the limited resources.
Currently, approximately 20,000 offline time-slot tokens are issued daily. TTD has urged these devotees to reach Tirumala only two hours before their scheduled darshan time rather than arriving early in search of accommodation. Furthermore, the practice of providing special accommodation for ₹300 Special Entry Darshan ticket holders has also been discontinued. Changes in the TTD software now prioritize room allocations primarily for long-distance pilgrims, making it harder for others to find a place to stay on the hills.
TTD’s Appeal and Current Ground Reality
The pressure of recommendation letters for the 7,000 available rooms in Tirumala has become a major administrative burden. The impact of this Tirumala Accommodation Shortage is even felt by Srivani Trust donors, who contribute ₹10,500 for darshan; they are often being allotted budget rooms in the ₹100 to ₹1,000 range due to the lack of VIP suites. TTD strongly advises pilgrims from neighboring states like Tamil Nadu and Karnataka to find accommodation in Tirupati and travel to Tirumala only for their darshan slot.
With the new software updates, the transparency of room allocation is being tightened, and many discretionary quotas are being slashed. Pilgrims are being encouraged to perform “Darshan and Return” to ease the pressure on Tirumala’s infrastructure. As the peak season continues, devotees are advised to check official TTD updates and secure their stay in Tirupati to avoid being stranded without a room on the sacred hills.
