అల్లూరి సీతారామరాజు జిల్లాలో అత్యంత విషాదకరమైన సంఘటన చోటుచేసుకుంది. ఒక చిన్న Selfie Accident ముగ్గురు యువతుల ప్రాణాలను బలితీసుకుంది. జిల్లాలోని అనంతగిరి మండలం మల్లంగుమి గ్రామం సమీపంలో ఉన్న జలపాతం వద్ద ఈ ప్రమాదం జరిగింది. సరదాగా గడపడానికి వెళ్లిన నలుగురు యువతులు, జలపాతం వద్ద సెల్ఫీలు తీసుకుంటుండగా ఒక్కసారిగా కాలు జారి నీటిలో పడిపోయారు. ఈ క్రమంలో ముగ్గురు యువతులు నీటి ప్రవాహంలో చిక్కుకుని అక్కడికక్కడే మృతి చెందగా, మరో యువతిని స్థానికులు సమయస్ఫూర్తితో వ్యవహరించి ప్రాణాలతో రక్షించారు.
మృతులను బూర్జ పంచాయతీ పరిధిలోని జంబువలస గ్రామానికి చెందినవారిగా పోలీసులు గుర్తించారు. ఈ జలపాతం అనంతగిరి, హుకుంపేట మండలాల సరిహద్దులోని దట్టమైన అటవీ ప్రాంతంలో ఉండటంతో సహాయక చర్యలకు కొంత ఆటంకం కలిగింది. సమాచారం అందుకున్న పోలీసులు వెంటనే సంఘటనా స్థలానికి చేరుకుని మృతదేహాలను వెలికితీశారు. ఈ Selfie Accident జంబువలస గ్రామంలో తీవ్ర విషాదాన్ని నింపింది. యువతుల మరణవార్త తెలుసుకున్న కుటుంబ సభ్యులు కన్నీరుమున్నీరవుతున్నారు.
