మాస్టర్ డిగ్రీలో Gold Medalist సాధించిన ఒక ఉన్నత విద్యావంతుడు గజదొంగగా మారిన వింత ఘటన వెలుగులోకి వచ్చింది. ఏపీలోని గుంటూరు జిల్లా వేటపాలెంకు చెందిన మిక్కిలి వంశీకృష్ణ అలియాస్ శ్యాం రిచర్డ్, ఉన్నత చదువులు చదివినా విలాసాలకు అలవాటు పడి చోరీలను వృత్తిగా ఎంచుకున్నాడు. నిందితుడిని చౌటుప్పల్ పోలీసులు అరెస్ట్ చేసి అతని నుంచి భారీగా నగదు, కారు మరియు ఇతర ఎలక్ట్రానిక్ వస్తువులను స్వాధీనం చేసుకున్నారు. వివిధ జిల్లాల్లో ఇతను ఇప్పటివరకు సుమారు 62 దొంగతనాలకు పాల్పడినట్లు విచారణలో తేలింది.
వంశీకృష్ణ చోరీ చేసే పద్ధతి కూడా చాలా విభిన్నంగా ఉంటుంది. కేవలం తాళం వేసిన ఇళ్లను టార్గెట్ చేస్తూ పట్టపగలే దొంగతనాలు చేసేవాడు. గతంలో పలుమార్లు జైలుకు వెళ్లినా ఇతని తీరులో మార్పు రాలేదు. ఫిబ్రవరి 22న చౌటుప్పల్లో ఒక ఇంట్లో ఏకంగా రూ.14.20 లక్షల విలువైన సొత్తును దోచుకున్నాడు. ఈ కేసును ప్రతిష్టాత్మకంగా తీసుకున్న పోలీసులు, తనిఖీలు నిర్వహిస్తుండగా ధర్మోజిగూడెం వద్ద అనుమానాస్పదంగా కనిపించిన వంశీకృష్ణను అదుపులోకి తీసుకోవడంతో ఇతని ఆగడాలన్నీ బయటపడ్డాయి.
దొంగతనం సొమ్ముతో సేవా కార్యక్రమాలు
ఈ గజదొంగలో ఉన్న మరో కోణం పోలీసులనే విస్మయానికి గురిచేసింది. దొంగిలించిన సొమ్ముతో వంశీకృష్ణ విలాసవంతమైన జీవితాన్ని గడుపుతూ తన చుట్టూ బౌన్సర్లను ఏర్పాటు చేసుకునేవాడు. అయితే, అదే సమయంలో పేద విద్యార్థులకు, అనాథ పిల్లలకు ఆర్థిక సాయం చేస్తూ వారిని చదివించేవాడు. అందుకే పోలీసులు ఇతడిని “మానవత్వం ఉన్న దొంగ”గా అభివర్ణించారు. నిందితుడి బ్యాంక్ ఖాతాలో ఉన్న రూ.2.28 లక్షలను పోలీసులు ఫ్రీజ్ చేశారు.

Vamsi Krishna’s criminal activities came to light after he was intercepted during a routine vehicle check while traveling to a court hearing in a rented car.
Interestingly, the police discovered a philanthropic side to this master thief. While he spent the stolen money on luxuries and maintained private bouncers, he also reportedly used a portion of his loot to support the education of orphans and poor students. Described as a “thief with humanity,” his bank accounts have been frozen as part of the investigation. The arrest has put an end to his long-standing streak of daylight burglaries in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
